I just read a little gem of a book by Jonathan Rogers. Although the cover doesn't say it, it's based loosely on the Bible story of David. It's called The Bark of the Bog Owl This is one of those books that would be fantastic to read to your kids. Or if you have older boys who like to read, I think they'd love it. The hero of the story is a young boy, just twelve years old, who does incredible things with the help of God.
The Christian message is there, but it didn't feel preachy at all. It was just a fun adventure story. This may be one that I would purchase, just so I could read it with my kids and have it in my book collection. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
