Flashback Challenge

I stumbled across this challenge while doing some blog hopping tonight, and I decided I wanted to do it.  It's not that I need one more challenge.  I probably have over-extended myself already.  But I'm thinking of books I liked as a child, or as a teenager, and wondering how I'd feel about them now.  So I'm going to give it a whirl.  The rules are:

The Flashback Challenge will run from January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2010.  If you're super-excited and want to reread a book before that, feel free, and let me know.  If many people do so, then I'll do a December challenge linky post and you can all link to it here.  Otherwise, we can hold them over to January.

You can sign up for the following levels:
Bookworm - Up to three books
Scholar - Four to six books
Literati - Over six books

Within these levels, we have mini-challenges!  These are:

1. Re-read a favorite book from your childhood
2. Re-read a book assigned to you in high school
3. Re-read a book you loved as an adult

Thus, if you sign up for the Bookworm level, you could ostensibly choose to read one book from each mini-challenge.  Or you could choose to do none of the above (though, granted, not sure what you could have possibly read that does not fit into either childhood, high school or adulthood).

Also, would just like to make clear that this isn't specifically limited to books you loved reading previously and want to reread.  It could also be a book you don't remember enjoying.  Or just don't remember reading.  It might be interesting to see how your perceptions may have changed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I've got a few ideas in mind.  I remember reading the Sunfire romance series when I was in my early teens, and I really liked them.  I'd like to try a re-read there.  Maybe the Sweet Valley High books.  There were a couple of Christian romances I liked.  So, I'm going to think on it a little longer, and just decide as I go.

Ohmigosh, a Sweet Valley High book would be hilarious to read now! Great idea :-)

Thanks for signing up for the challenge! And I LOVE your blog header.

Great challenge! I already re-read all my Nancy Drew books from my childhood collection. I remember loving Pippi Longstocking and also Ramona books by Beverly Cleary.

I'm reading a lot of classics this year that I never was assigned to read in H.S.

I love your header, too!

I remember reading the Ramona books too. I never read Nancy Drew, though. I also read a lot of Judy Blume, and some Paula Danziger. It takes me awhile, but I'm starting to remember.
